Root Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition using Odin and CF-Auto-Root
The Developer Edition of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was officially released. If you managed to buy the new phablet and if you are an advanced Android user, then now you are probably considering in rooting your smartphone. If I am right and if you can’t wait for unlocking your Verizon Galaxy Note 4, don’t hesitate and use the guidelines from below. During the present tutorial we will be checking on how to easily ensure root access by using Odin and Cf-Auto-Root software – do check the lines from below for further info.
Do note first that this method is only for the developer edition of Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which comes with an unlocked bootloader. On the devices that features a locked bootloder this root method will not work and will probably brick your devices. Thus, be careful when applying the following guidelines and try not to mess things up in any matter.
Now, ensuring root access is a dedicated operation that is usually completed by advanced users or by users who are considering in tweaking their Android smartphones or tablets. Now, by using Odin and CF-Auto-Root you will be able to easily and safely root / unlock your Verizon Galaxy Note 4. Odin is an official software and the root exploit is extremely popular among Android users. You won’t have to use other custom or complex apps and you will only use Odin for flashing the root package – we will talk more about this process, during the proper steps from below.
What you need to know is that gaining root access is not an official operation. By completing the same you will basically remove factory and default restrictions from your Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition and you will prepare your phone for further complex and unofficial processes. Bottom line, rooting is the first step to make when trying to customize, optimize, personalize and power up your phablet.
Due to same considerations, by completing this tutorial you will void the warranty of your Note 4. Unfortunately, this aspect can’t be avoided in any matter. Therefore, it should be clear for you that from this point forward you won’t be able to reclaim the Note 4 warranty any more. If you will have to take your phablet back to service for technical assistance, you will have to pay for your trouble. Instead, you can choose to manually fix most common software issues by using dedicated troubleshoot tutorials – check out our how to section for more details.
Rooting your Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition is a must if you want to: update your device with a custom ROM firmware (like CM11, AOKP or ParanoidAndroid), install a custom recovery image such as CWM or TWRP recovery, flash a custom kernel, overclock the CPU, remove bloatware or perform other unofficial procedures for customizing the looks, optimizing the performances or upgrade the battery life.
But, before heading towards the steps from below you first have to prepare your phone and do other pre requisites. Of course, we must mention the backup operation, as without completing the same, you might end up in losing everything that’s saved on the internal storage memory of your device. So, due to same reasons, download and install backup and restore apps from Google Play and other cloud services and save your contacts, call logs, text messages, EFS folder, market apps, internet settings, images, videos, audio files and other personal data, info and accounts along with the current ROM that is running on your Note 4.
Afterwards, make sure that you can use a Windows powered computer – the same will be required for downloading the proper tools. Also, your phone’s USB cable must be near you as a connection between your devices will have to be established. Good; after that, from your computer you have to temporarily deactivate antivirus and any other security protection, because these tools might interfere with the root process. On your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 the USB debugging option must be checked if you want to safely connect your phone with your computer – you can check the mentioned option by going to “menu – settings – developer options”.
Your phone must have at least 60% power left. You shouldn’t complete this tutorial if the battery power is lower than the mentioned threshold. Thus, plug in the charger before doing anything else – your device might get bricked if it gets turned off in the middle of the root operation. Do remember that this step by step guide is compatible only with the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition.
